Developer Relations Manager (DevRel)

About the role

Aikido Security, a developer-first security company founded in 2022, is hiring a Developer Relations Manager in San Francisco. This is a hands-on, community-first role focused on engaging directly with developers at meetups, hackathons, demo days and industry events, rather than a content-only or purely strategic position.

Key responsibilities

• Be highly visible in the San Francisco developer community at meetups, hackathons, demo days, conferences and informal events.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, founders, platform engineers, DevOps engineers and security-minded builders.
• Represent Aikido at developer meetups, conferences and community events.
• Help organize and host Aikido meetups, happy hours, workshops and developer events.
• Engage with the developer community online on X, Slack, Discord and developer forums.
• Work with marketing and product to support launches, amplify events and turn community insights into better messaging.

Required profile

• Experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, community leadership or developer marketing.
• Already active in the developer ecosystem, regularly attending meetups, events or community gatherings.
• An existing developer network or a recognizable presence in part of the developer community.
• Comfortable talking with developers and engineers; technical curiosity matters more than being an expert.
• Social, approachable, proactive and able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Based in San Francisco and eager to be in person in the developer community.

Required skills

• Bonus: runs or contributes to personal content channels such as a blog, newsletter, YouTube, podcast or social presence.
• Strong plus: background working with developer tools, DevOps platforms or security products.
