Software Engineer, CAD Automation

About the role

Reframe Systems is building a highly automated micro‑factory for climate‑resilient housing. The Software Engineer, CAD Automation will create and maintain custom Onshape features and integrations that accelerate architectural design and feed directly into the factory floor.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Onshape features using FeatureScript for daily production use.
• Extend Onshape workflows by building tooling and integrating external systems via Onshape APIs.
• Identify repetitive manual tasks with the design engineering team, prototype solutions, and embed them into daily workflows.
• Build automation for MEP constraints, device and fixture placement, and code‑compliance checks (e.g., outlet placement, egress, tempered‑glass requirements).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve efficiency across design and manufacturing.

Required profile

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with Go, Python, or C#.
• Hands‑on experience with parametric CAD platforms (Onshape, Fusion, SolidWorks, etc.) and building custom plugins or extensions.
• Experience using coding agents or AI tools to prototype quickly.
