Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

Join Realm, an AI‑first company building intelligent solutions for the mining industry. As a Backend Software Engineer you will work across the stack to deliver real‑time data services, AI pipelines, and infrastructure that power safety and productivity tools for mines worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and extend a TypeScript backend that serves real‑time mining operations data to web and mobile clients.
• Build computer‑vision pipelines using AWS Rekognition, TensorFlow, and SAM3 for PPE detection and safety monitoring.
• Integrate with industrial systems (SCADA/OPC‑UA) to monitor and optimize equipment in real time.
• Ship features end‑to‑end, deploying multiple times per day with CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate directly with users and the CEO to translate operational challenges into high‑impact features.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong CS fundamentals.
• Comfort working across the stack, from React components to Kubernetes pods and database queries.
• Entrepreneurial work ethic, high ownership, and ability to work independently in a remote team.
• US citizenship or permanent residency.
