SOC Security Analyst 2 – 24/7 Security Operations Center

About the role

We are seeking a full-time SOC Security Analyst 2 to join the 24/7/365 Security Operations Center of the University of Miami Health System in Miami, FL. The analyst will lead advanced forensic investigations, data recovery and electronic discovery while strengthening our defenses against unauthorized access.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and senior management to define security requirements aligned with regulatory standards.
• Evaluate existing security controls, identify vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements.
• Develop and deliver advanced security training and awareness programs across the organization.
• Integrate security considerations into HR and other departmental processes.
• Provide specialized consulting on complex security challenges and best practices.
• Document, analyze and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend implementations to improve security posture.
• Design and oversee auditing and monitoring processes to ensure policy compliance.
• Advise information asset owners on risk assessments and action plans.
• Supervise security coordinators and junior analysts, fostering professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Ability to work rotating or irregular shifts.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and networking protocols.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication of technical findings.

Required skills

• Experience with SPLUNK.
• Proficiency in CrowdStrike.
• Knowledge of Proofpoint.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender.
• Hands‑on experience in computer forensic investigations and data recovery.
