Senior Thermal Engineer – Advanced Missile Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead thermal engineering methodology across advanced missile systems, covering architecture, high‑fidelity modeling, hardware testing, and flight‑test data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thermal design and analysis of unmanned air vehicles from concept through detailed design.
• Define thermal system architectures, material‑selection strategies, and conduct transient thermal analysis for mission profiles.
• Plan, execute, and analyze specialized thermal ground testing and support flight testing with post‑flight data analysis.
• Develop MATLAB/Python models using first‑principles methods and collaborate with aerodynamics, structures, electrical, and systems teams.

Required profile

• BS or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Applied Physics or related field.
• 5+ years of aerospace thermal engineering experience on rocket, spacecraft, aircraft or missile programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance and work on‑site in Torrance, CA.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and high‑temperature environments.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python (or similar) for modeling.
• Experience with SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
• Ground‑testing experience with thermal instrumentation and data acquisition.
