Avionics Hardware Engineer – Senior/Staff

About the role

We are seeking experienced Avionics Hardware Engineers at the Senior and Staff levels to design high‑speed digital and mixed‑signal hardware for mission‑critical flight computer systems. The role covers full ownership from architecture through board design, bring‑up, validation and integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced board‑level hardware, including schematic capture, component selection and PCB layout oversight.
• Own high‑speed digital and embedded flight computer architectures, handling processors, memory systems and board‑level integration.
• Perform board bring‑up, validation, debugging and root‑cause analysis using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and power supplies.
• Drive signal integrity, power integrity and hardware reliability throughout the design lifecycle.
• Collaborate with avionics, embedded software, test and manufacturing teams and document designs and engineering changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience designing complex digital or mixed‑signal hardware, especially high‑speed systems.
• Hands‑on PCB design and hardware bring‑up experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Torrance, CA and meet U.S. work‑authorization and export‑control requirements.

Required skills

• High‑speed digital design, signal integrity, power distribution.
• Embedded processors, memory interfaces, board‑level architecture.
• PCB design tools (Altium preferred).
• Laboratory equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PCIe, DDR.
• Basic scripting/programming in Python, C or C++.
