Senior Thermal Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Thermal Engineer you will own the thermal engineering methodology for missile systems, defining architectures, building high‑fidelity models, and validating designs through simulation and hardware testing. You will work across multiple disciplines to develop integrated thermal solutions from concept through flight.

Key responsibilities

• Define thermal system architectures and material selection strategies for vehicles operating in demanding flight environments.
• Perform thermal analysis using standard codes, hand methods, and transient mission profiles.
• Plan, execute, and analyze ground and flight thermal tests in specialized facilities.
• Develop first‑principles MATLAB/Python models to inform design decisions and present thermal status at formal reviews.

Required profile

• BS or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Physics.
• 5+ years of aerospace thermal engineering experience on rocket, spacecraft, aircraft, or missile programs.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Required skills

• Strong programming in MATLAB and Python.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
• Proficiency with Thermal Desktop and SINDA.
• Experience with thermal instrumentation, data acquisition, and formal documentation preparation.
