Electrical Engineer Co‑op – RF & Digital Design (Hybrid)

About the role

This 6‑month co‑op position (January‑June 2027) is based in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and offers hands‑on experience in RF and digital circuit design within RTX's aerospace and defense engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full circuit design lifecycle: capture requirements, create schematics, conduct performance, stability, ESD/Lightning, decoupling and signal/power integrity analysis.
• Develop board stack‑up, routing instructions and coordinate PCB layout reviews.
• Create test plans, conduct root‑cause analysis and integrate designs into communication systems.
• Design and build engineering and production test systems, adapters, cabling and technical documentation.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or advanced degree program in Electrical Engineering.
• Residing in Puerto Rico at start date; relocation not provided.

Required skills

• Experience with electronic circuit and hardware development (digital/analog).
• Proficiency in schematic capture and ECAD/PCB tools (NX ECAD, DX Designer/Expedition, Altium, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, KiCAD).
• Familiarity with RF testing equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meters, switches).
• Use of logic analyzers and interface adapters (JTAG, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).
• Knowledge of signal integrity, timing analysis, FPGA/SoC design and Agile development environments (Jira).
