Senior Systems Engineer – Remote (West Coast)

About the role

Atlas Technica is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its Support team. This remote, full‑time position works on West Coast business hours and provides advanced IT support, system administration, and technical escalation for hedge‑fund and investment‑firm clients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advanced remote IT support and troubleshoot complex issues across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, networking and security environments.
• Serve as escalation point for junior engineers, mentor team members, and contribute to knowledge‑base documentation.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, Teams, Entra ID) and Windows Server/Active Directory infrastructure.
• Support enterprise networking equipment (firewalls, switches, wireless) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix).
• Maintain ticket workflow, change‑control procedures, and evaluate emerging technologies for client environments.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, administration or related IT support roles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote managed‑services setting.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and handling multiple technical priorities.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, Teams, Entra ID).
• Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, identity and access management.
• Endpoint protection solutions such as Sophos.
• Virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, VPN, routing, switching, firewalls.
• Enterprise networking hardware: Palo Alto, Cisco firewalls, Cisco switches, Meraki, Ubiquiti.
• Microsoft Azure workloads and cloud services.
• Scripting/automation with PowerShell or Infrastructure as Code.
