Senior Structures Design Engineer, Advanced Concepts

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a Senior Structures Design Engineer to lead the development of primary and secondary airframe structures for an advanced narrow‑body electric aircraft. The role spans concept through preliminary design and integrates structural architecture with product definition across wings, pylons, fuselage, empennage, control surfaces, and high‑lift systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop structural concepts, load paths, layouts, and configuration trades for metallic, composite, and hybrid airframe structures.
• Create and manage 3‑D CAD models for primary/secondary structures, joints, attachments, and installations.
• Translate aircraft‑level requirements, loads, aerodynamic geometry, and manufacturing constraints into detailed design specifications.
• Perform preliminary sizing, hand calculations, and design for manufacturability, inspection, maintainability, weight, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate with Stress, Loads, Aerodynamics, Materials, Systems, Manufacturing and other cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of aircraft structural design or aerospace product‑development experience.
• Proficiency in complex aerospace hardware development using CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE or comparable CAD tools.
• Working knowledge of aircraft load paths, structural sizing, joints, fasteners, GD&T and configuration control.
• US Person status required.
