Senior Software Engineer – Go & Rust, Blockchain Infrastructure

About the role

Quicknode is seeking a senior individual contributor to design, build, and improve distributed systems that ingest, process, and serve blockchain data at scale. The role involves hands‑on engineering and technical leadership across high‑throughput Go services and performance‑critical Rust components.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize low‑latency backend services, APIs, and data‑processing systems in Go and Rust for production blockchain infrastructure.
• Own production services and components, handling architecture, concurrency models, testing, observability, deployment, and operation.
• Architect distributed systems with strong guarantees around consistency, fault tolerance, scalability, and availability.
• Profile and benchmark systems, identify bottlenecks, and improve throughput, latency, and resilience.
• Assess security risks and design controls to protect transactions, data, and system integrity.
• Debug complex failures across services, databases, streaming systems, networks, and blockchain nodes.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, security, and developer experience teams to translate requirements into maintainable systems.
• Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, document decisions, and establish engineering standards.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating backend or distributed systems in high‑scale production environments.
• Advanced proficiency in both Go and Rust with production shipping experience in each.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms, concurrency, memory safety, databases, networking, and production architecture.
• Track record of delivering reliable, scalable systems with measurable performance improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, technical judgment, and ability to lead cross‑team projects.
