Senior Project Manager

About the role

HEAPY is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Corporate practice in the Columbus, OH office. The colleague manages the full life cycle of design engineering, commissioning, energy optimization, sustainability or engineering/construction projects, from proposal to closeout, and is responsible for client experience, colleague collaboration and financial sustainability targets. The role covers medium to large projects with fees up to $500,000, often supported by several practices, and includes an expanded client management and business development focus.

Key responsibilities

• Review awarded projects to define scope, work sequences, schedules, budgets, resource plans, client communication and billing points
• Set up a liaison network between client, HEAPY, architect and construction manager
• Submit documents for code compliance review and obtain required permits
• Hold regular progress reviews to keep costs, delays and resource problems under control
• Represent the company, maintain colleague morale and meet with client management to resolve issues and secure final approvals
• Take part in project costing and bid preparation, and report client management activity through the CRM system
• Engage directly in design and lead the discipline expertise for managed projects

Required profile

• Normally a 4-year engineering degree and 6-9 years of experience in design engineering
• Prior experience in project engineering and Project Manager I roles; professional registration preferred
• Ability to stay at a desk for long periods, travel reliably and work in all weather conditions
• Ability to access job sites, including stairs, scaffolding and ladders, and to lift up to 25 lbs
