Senior Principal Medical Science Liaison – VitRet Central/Northeast

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Principal Medical Science Liaison to lead scientific exchange for the VitRet portfolio across the Central and Northeast United States. The role is remote with extensive travel (≈75%) to engage key opinion leaders and support product adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain peer‑to‑peer relationships with medical experts and key opinion leaders.
• Present scientific and clinical data on Alcon products and gather external insights to shape strategy.
• Provide medical information to practitioners and internal teams, responding to unsolicited requests.
• Lead and monitor Phase III and IV clinical trials, ensuring protocol adherence and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with Medical Information, Medical Safety, and other functions to resolve product complaints and safety issues.
• Serve as a medical consultant to marketing, commercial, research, and regulatory teams, and sign off on product safety reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 7 years of relevant medical affairs experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific information fluently in English.
• Experience managing investigator‑initiated trials and interacting with regulatory agencies.
• Willingness to travel up to 75 % of the time across the Central/Northeast region.
