Senior Power Consultant

About the role

Bitdeer, a global leader in Bitcoin mining and AI cloud, seeks a Senior Power Consultant to act as the internal expert on wholesale and retail energy markets, demand response, risk management, and power procurement across ERCOT, PJM and other deregulated markets.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑ahead and real‑time power scheduling in ERCOT, PJM and other markets, aligning with mining load profiles and price forecasts.
• Design, implement and optimise demand‑response curtailment programs, build real‑time dispatch models and report performance metrics.
• Develop forward power hedging frameworks, structure block energy purchases and provide mark‑to‑market reporting.
• Lead negotiations for PPAs, REP contracts and QSE agreements, reviewing power pass‑through terms for co‑location sites.
• Monitor regulatory developments (FERC, PUCT, PJM, ERCOT) and assess their impact on power cost and market participation.
• Maintain market intelligence dashboards, publish regular power market reports and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Audit co‑location power terms, benchmark effective rates and recommend renegotiations or site migrations.
• Build financial models to project revenue and cost savings for proposed power strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience at a QSE, power marketing firm, IPP or energy consultancy with trading responsibilities.
• Proven track record in day‑ahead and real‑time scheduling in ERCOT and/or PJM, and experience with at least one other ISO/RTO.
• Demonstrated ability to design and manage industrial demand‑response programs with measurable outcomes.
• Experience structuring block energy hedges and negotiating power supply agreements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERCOT market tools (Nodal protocols, Settlements, MIS portal) and PJM tools (eSchedules, Market Portal, eMKT).
• Advanced financial modelling in Excel (or Google Sheets); familiarity with Openlink Endur, Triple Point or similar platforms.
• Ability to build and interpret load forecasting models, price curve analytics and hedging P&L reports.
• Knowledge of SCADA or EMS systems for real‑time load visibility.
