Senior Planner (Production Planning & ERP)

About the role

M&H Valve Company, part of Birmingham, Alabama-based McWane, Inc., is hiring a Senior Planner in Anniston. The role coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within and between departments and with outside vendors according to the production schedule, and serves as subject matter expert for the ERP system supporting the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, distribute and maintain production schedules and priorities, and revise them for design changes, labour or material shortages, backlogs or other interruptions
• Manage and maintain accurate facility inventory levels, propose inventory efficiency improvements and supervise their implementation
• Propose target production rates based on sales levels and forecasting, and ensure ERP production demand is accurate
• Monitor open work orders, production data, raw material consumption and quality control, and calculate labour, material and manufacturing cost figures
• Plan and run the annual physical inventory cycle count
• Provide technical support for the ERP system: maintain databases, review reports and performance indicators, build customizations, integrations and reports, and train users on scheduling and inventory control
• Support BI and reporting, assist the BI/ERP Data Specialist, and promote safety and the McWane Way principles

Required profile

• High school diploma required; associate degree, vocational or technical school completion or equivalent education and experience
• Five to eight years of relevant work experience
• Supervisory experience; the position has direct reports
• Strong communication, organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks

Required skills

• Microsoft Office applications (Excel/Outlook) required
• ERP/MRP software experience preferred
• APICS certification or working knowledge of APICS principles preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear safety equipment
