Mechanical Millwright - 3rd Shift

About the role

Tyler Union, a waterworks products manufacturer, is hiring skilled mechanical millwrights for its 3rd shift in Anniston, Alabama. The starting pay is $30.54 per hour, and candidates must have previous industrial maintenance experience.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the Tyler Union Safety Management Program and report deviations to management.
• Set clearances between moving and stationary parts with hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
• Assemble and install equipment, lay out mounting holes and drill them.
• Signal the crane operator to lower assembly units to the bedplate and align them to centerline.
• Replace defective parts, adjust clearances and alignment, and level the bedplate.
• Dismantle and reassemble machines and move equipment with hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.

Required profile

• Previous industrial maintenance experience; three to five years of related on-the-job experience required.
• Associate degree in a technical field or vocational school training preferred.
• Ability to climb, lift, balance and stand for long periods while wearing safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats.

Required skills

• Mechanical systems troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, their design, use, repair and maintenance.
• Installation, equipment maintenance, operation monitoring, critical thinking and problem-solving.
