CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

About the role

Tyler Union in Anniston, Alabama, is looking for CNC Machinists to set up, operate and monitor CNC equipment that machines ductile iron components with precision and consistency, while keeping safety at the forefront. The position is on the 2nd shift and is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Follow supervisor and team lead instructions for setups and tooling.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections, start machines and perform first-part inspections.
• Learn and follow work instructions, measure finished parts with precision instruments and operate machines safely.
• Mount, install, align and secure tools and fixtures under supervision, and make minor fixture adjustments.
• Stop machines to remove finished parts or change tooling, ensure proper lubrication and cooling, and replace dull cutting tools.
• Insert control instructions into machine controls, verify and record first-part inspections, and keep the workstation neat.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues, wear PPE, and follow safety protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in a technical field or vocational school training preferred.
• One year of experience as a driller or pattern rigger in the division considered.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly, stand and walk frequently, and make fine adjustments to machines.
• All new hires must pass a drug screen, physical and background check.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
• Calibration and reading of precision measuring devices.
• Working knowledge of mill and lathe tooling.
