Mechanical Maintenance Millwright - 2nd Shift

About the role

Tyler Union, a McWane subsidiary, is hiring skilled mechanical millwrights for its 2nd shift in Anniston, Alabama. The position is full-time, with a starting pay of $30.54 per hour and a benefits package described as excellent.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the Tyler Union Safety Management Program and advise management of any deviations from it.
• Set clearances between moving and stationary parts by inserting shims, adjusting nuts and bolts and positioning parts with hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
• Assemble and install equipment with hand and power tools, lay out mounting holes and drill them.
• Signal the crane operator to lower assembly units to the bedplate and align them to the centerline.
• Replace defective parts, adjust clearances and alignment, level the bedplate and establish the centerline.
• Dismantle and reassemble machines, move equipment with hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.

Required profile

• Previous industrial maintenance experience; experience with mechanical systems, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance is essential.
• Three to five years of related on-the-job experience required.
• An associate's degree in a technical field or vocational school training is preferred.
• Ability to climb, lift, balance and stand for long periods, and to wear safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats.

Required skills

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
• Installation, equipment maintenance, operation monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing.
