Senior Network Engineer (Top Secret Clearance)

About the role

In support of DISA's Intel and Cyber Division, Amentum is recruiting a Senior Network Engineer to join a team providing critical network capabilities to the Department of Defense. The team works on prototype development, test and demonstration, and is made available longer term for integration, deployment and sustainment. The schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, and the employee works in a SCIF daily and may work in a datacenter for specified periods.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a senior-level contributor, operating and troubleshooting autonomously, customer-facing or with other engineers.
• Design, build and troubleshoot network and network security architecture.
• Analyze hardware requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
• Escalate and troubleshoot LAN/WAN operations, network automation tooling and network security appliances.
• Work with Information Assurance Security Engineers to validate designs against security controls and maintain DISA STIG requirements.
• Create, review and update technical documentation and provide implementation documentation and templates for deployment and sustainment.
• Diagnose complex performance, security and technical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or an additional five years of network engineering experience.
• 10 years of network engineering experience, including 3 years in network design, architecture and implementation.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and to travel up to 20%.

Required skills

• Cisco CCNP certification and DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II or IAM-I baseline certification.
• Routing protocols: IS-IS and/or OSPF, MP-BGP, MPLS (RSVP-TE, LDP, SR-MPLS), routing policy and redistribution, DMVPN and/or SD-WAN, STP.
• Network security: SSH, WAN MACsec, IPSec, RADIUS, TACACS+, firewall NAT, security policies and endpoint security.
• Building and troubleshooting circuits, fault isolation to CE equipment, demarc and carrier.
• MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
