Senior Microsoft Platforms Engineer

About the role

The Senior Microsoft Platforms Engineer will lead the engineering, configuration, and sustainment of an enterprise Knowledge Management ecosystem for a U.S. Combatant Command. This position requires active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and will work across both unclassified and classified networks.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, and maintain SharePoint (on‑prem 2016/2019/Subscription Edition and Online), Microsoft 365 services, and the Power Platform in line with Command governance and DevSecOps standards.
• Define platform patterns, governance guardrails, and administrative practices; lead escalated troubleshooting, upgrade planning, and mentor junior engineers.
• Design secure, discoverable solutions with role‑based/attribute‑based access, zero‑trust principles, and integrated decision‑support dashboards.
• Produce runbooks, governance guides, and training materials to reinforce KM competencies and platform adoption.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with active Top Secret clearance and eligibility for SCI (SSBI).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering and administration of Microsoft collaboration platforms, including 5 years with SharePoint on‑prem and Online.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain before privileged access.
