Senior Manager, Learning Strategy - US Retail, Services, Pro

About the role

The Senior Manager of Learning Strategy (LSM) at The Home Depot establishes short- and long-term learning strategies to increase associate competence and confidence. The role takes a learner-centric approach, defining and validating learning needs for targeted audiences and creating effective learning and content plans with simple, relevant solutions. It sits within the US Retail, Services, Pro segment and reports to the Director Learning.

Key responsibilities

• Determine learner capabilities and needs by reviewing job requirements, understanding the learner's environment, connecting with learners and leaders, and evaluating key metrics with business partners.
• Develop content area plans and recommend solutions to business partners, collaborating with other LSMs to cover all content areas and maintain their effectiveness.
• Work with Learning Design & Development, Technology and Delivery teams to choose effective learning solutions and communicate them to business partners.
• Create learning plans for assigned job roles, validate recommendations from other LSMs, and work with Execution, Technology and Delivery teams to ensure they are executed.
• Collaborate with business partners, influence decisions for learners, address difficult issues directly and build stakeholder buy-in across the organization.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of prior experience in a related field (Training and Development, Leadership & Organizational Development, Human Resources) and/or The Home Depot field experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience.
• Able to work in the United States; must be 18 or older.
• Travel typically under 10% overnight; mostly seated work with occasional movement or lifting of light items.
