Senior Manager, Data Science

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead a high‑performing team and drive advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI solutions across the enterprise. Based onsite in Fort Worth, Texas, you will partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate, recommend and manage data‑driven projects that advance business objectives.
• Collaborate with the Data Strategy team to collect, prepare, and transform data from multiple sources for analytics and AI initiatives.
• Select and apply advanced statistical procedures to generate actionable insights.
• Validate, test, and cross‑validate models to ensure accuracy, scalability, and business applicability.
• Lead and mentor Data Scientists and Analysts, delegating priorities to deliver key initiatives.
• Produce and communicate non‑technical reports and presentations that articulate outcomes, opportunities, limitations, and business impact.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities where advanced analytics can inform strategy.
• Guide architecture decisions for AI platforms, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and enterprise analytics capabilities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, technical problem‑solving, and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
• Experience leading data‑science, machine‑learning, or AI initiatives in commercial, supply‑chain, manufacturing, or similar functions.
