Senior Associate Data Science

About the role

At Alcon’s Analytics & Intelligence function, the Senior Associate Data Science will design and build data‑science solutions that turn complex structured and unstructured data into actionable insights. The role is based onsite at the Fort Worth, Texas main campus and supports business process improvement across the eye‑care organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test analytics models, including machine‑learning, mathematical optimization and advanced analytics, to solve business problems.
• Leverage large language models and agentic AI to automate end‑to‑end analytics and accelerate data‑driven decisions.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, insights and optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists and business partners to align solutions with business needs.
• Deliver clear, data‑driven recommendations to improve operational and strategic decisions.
• Communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences and suggest improvements to tools and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; high school + 10 years, associate + 6 years, or master’s + 0 years accepted.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in data science or analytics.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking in English.

Required skills

• Programming in Python and SQL.
• Experience with mathematical solvers such as CPLEX or Gurobi.
• Proficiency with data‑visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Knowledge of machine‑learning techniques and mathematical optimization models.
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI.
• Experience using cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
