Senior Manager, Contract Lifecycle & Legal Operations

About the role

Treaty Oak Clean Energy, a clean energy developer of utility-scale solar plus battery storage projects headquartered in Austin, Texas, is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Manager, Contract Lifecycle & Legal Operations to join its Legal team. The role ensures timely preparation, review and management of contract documentation, compliance with regulatory and project requirements, and efficient contract processing, execution and tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Own and oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including intake, review coordination, approvals, execution, storage, renewal and closeout of NDAs, MSAs, task orders and other agreements.
• Coordinate review of complex contracts, route provisions to stakeholders, consolidate comments, track issues to resolution and shepherd documents to execution.
• Develop and improve Legal team workflows, service standards, intake procedures, approval paths and operating processes.
• Administer contract lifecycle management and legal technology platforms, including workflows, permissions, document libraries, data quality and reporting.
• Maintain contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, policies and centralized knowledge resources with attorneys.
• Support compliance, identify contractual or process risks and escalate issues to the appropriate attorney or stakeholder.
• Manage outside counsel engagement and spend, including engagement letters, billing guidelines, invoice review, accruals, budget tracking and spend reporting.
• Build dashboards and metrics for contract volume, cycle time, renewals, obligations, legal spend and other priorities, and report regularly to senior management.
• Partner with Development, Procurement, Finance and Operations, and lead process improvement and change management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, legal studies, finance, operations or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in contract management, legal operations, commercial contracting, procurement, paralegal services or a related field, including supporting an in-house legal department.
• Preferred: paralegal certification, Certified Legal Manager credential or similar professional certification.

Required skills

• Preferred: experience building legal operations processes in an in-house legal department.
• Preferred: experience implementing or optimizing a contract lifecycle management platform.
• Preferred: working knowledge of commercial contract terms and experience with NDAs, MSAs, task orders, consulting, procurement and construction contracts.
• Preferred: experience with legal budgeting, accruals, invoice review and outside counsel spend management.
• Preferred: experience developing dashboards, metrics, workflow automation or document-management solutions.
