Asylum Paralegal

About the role

A U.S.-based immigration law firm specializing in asylum and removal defense cases is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Asylum Paralegal to work closely with its attorneys. The role covers case preparation, client communication, legal research and document management, and suits someone organized, proactive and eager to grow their knowledge of U.S. immigration law.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing asylum applications (I-589), motions, supporting documents and evidentiary packets for Immigration Court (EOIR) and USCIS.
• Review case documents so they are accurate, complete and well organized before attorney review.
• Maintain regular contact with clients, help gather information and evidence and give updates throughout the case.
• Conduct legal and country conditions research to support attorneys.
• Monitor case progress, keep records organized and help meet important deadlines.
• Work closely with attorneys and team members to coordinate cases smoothly.

Required profile

• Previous hands-on experience in U.S. immigration law, especially asylum and removal defense proceedings; familiarity with EOIR and USCIS procedures is highly preferred.
• Strong English and Turkish communication skills, including speaking, reading and understanding professional and legal documents.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Availability to work from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM PT (Pacific Time).
