Senior Manager, Civil Programs

About the role

Airbus Helicopters in Columbus, MS is looking for a Senior Manager, Civil Programs to lead end‑to‑end acquisition, completion, maintenance and delivery of specialized aircraft for North American and global commercial markets. You will manage a team of program managers and coordinate cross‑functional contributors across engineering, flight test, quality and procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a 6‑8 person program management team and direct up to 50 cross‑functional contributors.
• Develop and manage project schedules (MS Project/Smartsheet) and budgets, tracking SPI and CPI metrics.
• Serve as primary customer champion for mission profiles such as Air Medical, Law Enforcement, Utility and Corporate/PBA.
• Oversee contract management from early offer phase through delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Drive configuration management, aircraft acquisition, and delivery experience improvements.
• Lead special and critical projects, product improvements, and safety review board participation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Program Management (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of aerospace, manufacturing or similar industry project management experience.
• US Person status under ITAR.
• Willingness to travel 20‑30% domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• Knowledge of FAA regulations.
• Experience with aircraft completions, maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency in Earned Value Management (SPI, CPI).
• Advanced use of MS Project and Smartsheet for schedule development.
• Contract and configuration management expertise.
• Ability to interpret technical data packages and financial budgeting.
