About the role
The Coater Technician is responsible for moving optical components through cleaning and coating processes, ensuring quality and proper documentation throughout production.
Key responsibilities
- Clean, inspect, and measure advanced optical substrates to verify quality standards.
- Package optical components and set up tooling for coating chambers.
- Load parts into chambers, start coating runs, and perform tooling fit checks.
- Read and interpret prints for surface quality, dimensions, markings, and packaging requirements.
- Identify non‑conforming material, raise technical issues, and understand defect types.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a process manufacturing or cleanroom environment.
- Team‑oriented with ability to work effectively within a production team.
Required skills
- Cleaning and inspection of optical components.
- Measurement and packaging of substrates.
- Tooling setup and chamber operation.
- Reading technical prints and specifications.
- Knowledge of ISO, mil, and final inspection procedures.
