Senior Internal Auditor I

About the role

The Texas A&M University System Offices are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor I to join the Internal Audit department. Working on campus in College Station, you will conduct advanced audits across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with professional standards and supporting the system’s mission of education, research, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed audit procedures throughout planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases with minimal supervision.
• Develop audit programs, research criteria, and collect and analyze information to identify risk areas.
• Assist audit managers by reviewing working papers, managing assignment budgets, and meeting deadlines.
• Prepare comprehensive written audit findings, recommendations, and draft audit reports.
• Facilitate team meetings, entrance conferences, client status updates, and wrap‑up sessions.
• Share information and collaborate with team members, providing feedback and coaching as needed.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Professional auditing experience with a focus on internal audit.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit engagements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder interaction.
