Senior Information Security Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to lead AI Security Operations. You will protect AI platforms, models, and data, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability across the AI lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and improve AI security tooling, including red‑team testing, guardrails, model evaluation, and AI Security Posture Management solutions.
• Analyze tool findings, translate them into remediation actions, and integrate AI security into broader security operations.
• Design and operationalize secure AI architectures, authoring secure design principles and control requirements.
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers to embed security controls throughout the AI development and deployment lifecycle.
• Support AI security governance, aligning policies with NIST, ISO, and emerging AI guidance, and provide evidence for audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in information security engineering or operations with hands‑on exposure to AI/ML systems.
• Proven ability to assess, test, and operationalize security controls for complex, distributed systems.
• Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills across engineering, data, and risk teams.

Required skills

• Experience with AI red‑team testing tools and guardrails.
• Model evaluation and validation platforms.
• AI Security Posture Management (AI SPM) solutions.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for LLM applications.
• Familiarity with NIST and ISO security frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CEH, OSCP, or cloud security certifications.
