Senior HR Manager / HR Director – Multi-State Retail Leadership

About the role

We are seeking senior HR leaders to own HR operations and multi‑state compliance for a fast‑growing national beauty retail brand with 100+ stores. The role combines strategic HR planning with hands‑on management of payroll, benefits, and employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategy for a multi‑state, W‑2 hourly and salaried workforce, partnering with executive leadership on organizational design and culture.
• Lead multi‑state employment law compliance, manage ADP Workforce Now HRIS/payroll, and oversee total rewards, benefits administration, and open enrollment.
• Conduct structured investigations, handle disciplinary actions and terminations, and drive engagement, retention, and performance programs across a geographically dispersed workforce.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; Master's/MBA or SPHR/SHRM‑SCP strongly preferred.
• Senior‑level experience: HR Manager – 5+ years (including 2+ years managing HR); HR Director – 8+ years (including 4+ years in HR leadership).
• Proven track record managing a multi‑state retail workforce with deep knowledge of state wage, hour, and leave laws.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ADP Workforce Now for payroll, benefits, and data management.
• Strong background in conducting structured investigations and executing disciplinary actions.
