Senior GIS Solution Engineer - Electric, Gas, Telecommunications, Rail

About the role

Esri is hiring a Senior GIS Solution Engineer in Philadelphia to join an account team and advise customers on their most complex business challenges. As a GIS subject matter expert, you identify the right analysis tools, create innovative solutions and explain their value to customers, covering electric, gas, telecommunications and rail sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Present, demonstrate and support the sale of Esri software and solutions as part of the account team, reaching technical decision makers and leading technical meetings that drive revenue.
• Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert of Esri technology and of electric, gas and/or telecommunications, understanding business structures, workflows, third-party systems and integration points, and coaching new team members.
• Proactively propose solutions that show how GIS addresses customers' critical challenges and delivers complex strategies aligned with their business needs.
• Design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences, provide configuration guidance and best practices, and present at large conferences and executive engagements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with Esri technology (mapping, spatial analysis, web applications).
• 3+ years of experience in electric, gas and/or telecommunications.
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science or a related field; visa sponsorship not available, U.S. work authorization required.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%; onsite work indicated.

Required skills

• Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud).
• Geodatabases and underlying DBMS, and integration with data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP and analytics platforms.
• Cloud computing (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and troubleshooting of Esri deployments.
• Programming and scripting in Python and JavaScript.
• Technical consulting, conceptual solution design and sales/business development understanding.

• Estimated base salary of $98,592-$173,576 USD.
