Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Cabaletta Bio, a biotechnology company developing clinical trials with rese-cel (an investigational CD19-CAR T cell therapy), is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Philadelphia, PA, on a hybrid basis. The engineer administers, maintains, secures and continuously improves the company's infrastructure and cloud platforms, working with scientific and business stakeholders, managed service providers and cloud partners in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, VPCs, security groups, storage, monitoring) and Windows and Linux servers, including performance monitoring, patching, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Maintain network infrastructure (firewalls, VPN, routing, DNS, DHCP, wireless) and support network design reviews and vendor coordination.
• Design and support cloud-native and containerized workloads (Docker, ECS, EKS) and assist with cloud modernization, automation and platform engineering.
• Implement security controls, support vulnerability remediation, hardening, patch management, access controls and security audits.
• Support backup, disaster recovery planning, DR exercises and business continuity documentation.
• Act as technical point of contact for managed service providers and cloud partners, and communicate with business users and scientific teams during incidents and projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive infrastructure administration experience.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or life sciences, including GxP-regulated environments, CSV, change control and compliance-driven operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Experience administering AWS, Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Network infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, DNS and foundational cybersecurity.
• Backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
• Preferred: Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python), hybrid cloud, and AWS, Microsoft, Linux or security certifications.
