Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Mandarin Fluency Required)

About the role

Retell AI is building a modern CX platform powered by voice AI. As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer you will deliver AI voice solutions to enterprise clients, working closely with their teams to create production‑ready systems and drive adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of projects on the voice agent platform, from prototyping to production, while communicating progress and risks.
• Become the go‑to expert on building voice AI solutions, especially LLM prompting techniques.
• Build full‑stack integrations (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) with enterprise tools such as CRMs, ERPs and scheduling systems.
• Partner with sales to gather requirements, prototype demos and present system designs.
• Scope projects, resolve blockers and keep teams aligned with concise updates.
• Codify reusable patterns into tools or platform components and translate field feedback into product and GTM recommendations.

Required profile

• 2+ years in a customer‑facing technical role.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English, able to communicate effectively with enterprise customers.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including international trips.
• Proven ability to deliver production systems in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
