Senior Employment Law Counsel

About the role

iHeartMedia, the largest audio company in America, is hiring a Senior Employment Law Counsel in San Antonio, Texas. The counsel acts as a trusted legal advisor to HR, business leaders and executives on a broad range of employment matters, helping leaders navigate employee issues, litigation and claims, employment agreements and evolving workplace laws while shaping policies and practices that support the business.

Key responsibilities

• Advise HR, business clients and executives on employment matters such as discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, family and medical leave laws and restrictive covenants.
• Review and respond to employment-related claims, including charges, complaints and attorney demand letters.
• Manage and support outside counsel in employment litigation before administrative agencies, courts and in arbitration.
• Oversee the drafting of employment contracts and separation agreements and advise on related transactions.
• Interpret and advise business leaders on how to handle employee matters.
• Assist in developing internal processes and policies addressing current and emerging employment law issues.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5-7 years of employment law experience in a top law firm and/or as an in-house lawyer.
• Bachelor's degree.
• J.D. from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
• Licensed member of a state bar in good standing.
• Experience with California laws and regulations is a plus.

• Ability to work independently or within a project team with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detailed, accurate and persistent follow-up until issues are resolved.
