Senior Director, Global Forecasting, Obesity and Related Conditions

About the role

Amgen is seeking a Senior Director, Global Forecasting, Obesity and Related Conditions to lead forecasting strategy and execution for its global obesity portfolio. The role develops evidence-based forecasts that inform portfolio strategy, investment decisions, launch planning, lifecycle management, resource allocation and long-range business planning. It partners with Global Commercial, U.S. Commercial, Regional Commercial, Finance, Medical, Market Access, R&D, Business Development, Market Research, Analytics and Competitive Intelligence teams. At least 3 days per week must be spent on campus in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global forecasting for the Obesity and Related Conditions portfolio, including pipeline assets, launch brands, lifecycle opportunities and long-range therapeutic area planning.
• Develop and maintain short-, mid- and long-range forecasts, establish forecasting frameworks, methodologies, governance and assumptions, and turn outputs into strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
• Build forecasts reflecting treatment adoption, patient flow, payer dynamics, pricing and reimbursement, access restrictions, competitor entry and other market dynamics, and develop scenarios to assess upside and downside risks.
• Inform global brand strategy, launch planning, annual operating plans, long-range planning, portfolio reviews and investment decisions, and work with Finance, Market Access and Pricing teams on financial and reimbursement scenarios.
• Lead forecast alignment across global, regional and U.S. teams, drive forecast quality through model design, sensitivity analysis and version control, and set best practices such as launch curves, analog selection and scenario planning.
• Coach forecasting talent, foster analytical rigor and transparency, and champion diversity, equity and inclusion within the team.
