Senior Data Platform Engineer

About the role

Bevi is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to own and evolve the core data platform that powers its IoT beverage ecosystem. Reporting to the Head of Data, this individual contributor role combines strategic design with hands‑on implementation across ingestion, modeling, CI/CD, and visualization.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full data platform—including ingestion, modeling, self‑service, CI/CD, and visualization—while maintaining process documentation and standards enforcement.
• Design and build reliable, scalable data architecture to support analytics, AI, and ML initiatives.
• Partner with software teams to implement streaming data solutions using Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, and Grafana.
• Develop data models and pipelines for IoT sensor data, UI interactions, and beverage consumption.
• Implement governed self‑service frameworks with permissioning, PR‑based reviews, and full lineage tracking.
• Advance AI integration, governance, and monitoring to ensure accurate, scalable AI operations.
• Define privacy, governance, and security best practices, including handling of sensitive HR data.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the Data & Data Science organization.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering with end‑to‑end production responsibility.
• Deep expertise with modern cloud data stack tools such as Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, and Looker (or similar BI).
• Hands‑on experience building streaming and batch pipelines at scale (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, InfluxDB).
• Proven ability to design governance models for self‑service data access.
• Strong track record of building observability layers (monitoring, alerting, lineage, data quality).
• Excellent SQL and Python skills and a history of delivering production‑ready solutions.
