Senior IT Solutions Manager

About the role

The Fort Worth Water Department seeks a forward‑thinking Senior IT Solutions Manager to lead its Water IT Section. You will provide strategic direction for technology that supports critical utility operations serving 1.4 million water customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead people and technology initiatives, set priorities, manage performance, and oversee complex projects, contracts, and specialized systems.
• Shape technology strategy and service delivery by establishing goals, policies, and aligning information systems with operational needs.
• Design and improve solutions through business analysis, system enhancements, and user‑experience improvements.
• Manage budget development, forecast resources, monitor expenditures, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
• Coordinate system implementation, data migration, security configuration, testing, documentation, and deployment.
• Negotiate and manage technology contracts, evaluate terms, and ensure value delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement by evaluating performance, resolving issues, and increasing efficiency.
• Build strong partnerships across departments, city staff, and external agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Business or related field.
• At least six years of experience in information systems design, administration, analysis or programming.
• Three years of supervisory or administrative experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Cybersecurity expertise, especially for critical/sensitive environments.
• OT/IT network administration and security framework experience.
• Administration of critical SaaS applications.
• Strong budget management and contract negotiation abilities.
