IT Programmer/ Analyst II

About the role

The City of Fort Worth is seeking an IT Programmer/Analyst II to support the Field Operations Division of the Water Department. This position will develop, maintain, and support moderately complex information systems that enable critical water and wastewater infrastructure operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into logical, economical technical solutions.
• Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain applications and database objects such as queries, forms, tables, and reports.
• Provide rapid‑response software, hardware, and application support to office staff and field crews, handling multiple daily technical requests.
• Deliver training and one‑on‑one assistance to end users.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in computer programming, analytics, and technical support.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.

Required skills

• Experience developing, modifying, testing, and maintaining work‑order applications.
• Database design, query creation, report generation, and data integration.
• Translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshooting application, software, database, and hardware issues for office and field staff.
