Senior Data Governance Analyst

About the role

The Senior Data Governance Analyst will lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of data governance processes at Northwest Bank, ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and availability across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation and enforcement of data policies, workflows for data ingestion, quality, master data, and lifecycle management.
• Design, develop, and implement functionalities within data governance tools, including Microsoft Purview.
• Curate documentation for tool usage, supporting both casual and power users.
• Oversee data asset compliance with policies and standards, and manage end‑to‑end data lifecycle.
• Facilitate data working group sessions to identify critical data assets and define governing business rules.
• Monitor data quality, investigate root causes, and drive remediation plans.
• Develop and maintain program‑level metrics and reporting for the Data Steering Committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, IT, Informatics or related field.
• 5‑6 years of experience in data governance, quality management, and information architecture.
• 3‑5 years of experience in the banking and finance industry.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment and communicate complex ideas clearly.

Required skills

• Microsoft Purview (or similar data governance platform).
• Master Data Management concepts and tools.
• Metadata management, data cataloguing, and data quality technologies.
• Experience with data stewardship and data profiling processes.
• Familiarity with cloud data management trends and architectures.
