Senior Complex Claims Consultant – Healthcare Professional Liability

About the role

Davies North America seeks a Senior Complex Claims Consultant to lead the management and resolution of high‑severity healthcare professional liability claims. The role focuses on medical malpractice and liability matters arising from nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and allied health programs, often involving large financial exposures.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage a portfolio of complex healthcare liability claims from assignment through resolution.
• Evaluate liability, damages, causation, standard of care, and exposure to excess or catastrophic loss.
• Analyze medical records, expert reports, deposition testimony, and defense assessments.
• Develop and execute claim‑resolution strategies, including negotiation, mediation, settlement, and trial preparation.
• Provide clear, independent recommendations to carriers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate and thorough claim documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in healthcare professional liability, medical malpractice, or insurance coverage litigation.
• Proven ability to manage high‑exposure claims with seven‑figure reserves or potential judgments.
• Strong analytical judgment, coverage interpretation, and strategic decision‑making skills.
• Effective collaboration with carriers, insureds, defense counsel, medical experts, and internal teams.
