Senior Cloud Engineer (BDVA) - GSA Cyber Contract

About the role

Global InfoTek is hiring a Cloud Engineer with cyber operations experience and backend development skills to support the research, development, installation, deployment, operation, maintenance and evolution of cyber capabilities under a General Services Administration (GSA) contract. The position is based in Reston, VA, requires a Secret or higher security clearance and US citizenship, and offers a salary of $113,000 to $171,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design and develop cloud-based infrastructure, applications and services, including choosing the cloud platform, drawing architecture diagrams and writing automation scripts.
• Integrate new or upgraded mission-critical applications into cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Monitor cloud system performance and optimize resources for cost-effectiveness and high availability.
• Implement encryption and access controls, and regularly audit the cloud environment for compliance.
• Support the evolution of DevSecOps and CI/CD processes for new or upgraded applications.
• Communicate system issues proactively to technical leads and stay current on cloud technologies.

Required profile

• 7-10 years of experience; a bachelor's degree is required, a master's preferred, though experience may substitute for the education requirement.
• Strong foundation in virtual technologies, networking and databases, with critical thinking, creativity and curiosity.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a lean-forward attitude toward shifting knowledge left.
• Secret or higher clearance and US citizenship required.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Experience designing, developing and managing cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java or C#.
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and a DevSecOps framework.
• Preferred: cyber operations, network traffic inspection tools (Suricata, Zeek, Arkime), big data tools (Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud certifications.
