Senior Client Account Executive, Employee Health & Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring a Senior Client Account Executive for its Employee Health & Benefits practice in Raleigh. The role combines client relationship management, strategic planning and coordination across teams, building strong relationships with clients and carriers and managing both new and renewal accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with key clients and carriers through phone, email and in-person contact, understanding their business needs and risk management goals
• Develop and execute client service plans for assigned accounts and coordinate internal and external activities for new and renewal accounts
• Identify cross-sell opportunities and recommend new lines of coverage aligned with client objectives
• Work with Producers and Marketing Account Executives to oversee renewals, present renewal proposals and support documentation
• Lead marketing efforts for accounts, prepare and present marketing materials, and work with service teams to deliver forms and documentation
• Assist clients and internal staff with questions on administration, billing and claims, and keep detailed records in client management systems
• Attend seminars and carrier meetings to stay current on products and legislation, mentor team members and handle additional duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
• 7+ years of relevant insurance industry experience
• Strong client relations skills, including communication, service orientation and tactfulness
• Leadership skills: giving direction, constructive feedback and training, and motivating others
• Understanding of EHB claims data
• Knowledge of EB compliance

Required skills

• Experience with alternative funding arrangements, pharmacy programs, care management and wellness solutions
• Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Life & Health license or ability to obtain within 90 days, advanced degree, certification or RFP experience are a plus
