Senior Catering Sales Manager

About the role

Loews Chicago Hotel is looking for an experienced Senior Catering Sales Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit. The role is responsible for booking and servicing Catering business to meet revenue goals and sits within the Meetings and Events team, driving new Catering business and growing existing accounts. It reports to the Director of Meetings and Events.

Key responsibilities

• Reply promptly to incoming leads and actively prospect new Catering business
• Conduct site visits to help convert business
• Plan, coordinate and service all booked Catering events
• Take part in the Catering Sales strategy, including promotions and sales blitzes
• Work with the Director of Meetings and Events to host or take part in local events that attract new business
• Help create wedding packages and Catering specialty menus with the Director of Meetings and Events and the F&B team
• Research the competitive Catering market and identify competitor strengths and weaknesses
• Partner with Brand and PR to maintain and optimise the third-party website presence
• Block space in Delphi to maximise revenue, following business review and space release policies
• Distribute documents such as Banquet Event Orders and resumes to hotel departments and forecast group revenue spend
• Schedule pre- and post-convention meetings, encourage rebooking and collect feedback via the Meeting Planner Survey
• Work with the Financial Service Center on credit and billing, attend department meetings and take on special projects as assigned

Required profile

• Minimum four years of catering sales management experience in a full-service hotel environment
• Certified Meeting Planner, Certified Professional in Catering and Events, or similar designation preferred
• Proven success in sales
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Required skills

• General knowledge of all hotel departments
• Preferred: Delphi experience
• Preferred: diagram writing software such as Social Tables
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
