Senior Branch Engineer – Crane & Rigging

About the role

The Senior Branch Engineer will lead technical oversight for the Mobile, AL branch, guiding pre‑contract engineering for high‑risk, high‑complexity lift projects and providing commercial input to ensure financial and operational success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑contract engineering efforts, develop accurate lift concepts and detailed lift plans.
• Collaborate with sales leads, site teams and clients to provide technical expertise and resolve on‑site challenges.
• Perform load calculations, structural and stability analyses, and select appropriate cranes and rigging equipment.
• Mentor junior engineers, review their work and support their professional development.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, AISC, ANSI standards and conduct risk assessments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in crane, rigging or heavy‑lifting engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or related engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; OSHA 10 certification.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and pass drug, background and fit‑for‑duty checks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Lift Planner.
• Experience using engineering analysis software like RISA‑3D, Ansys, Mathcad.
• Strong knowledge of load calculation, structural analysis, and relevant standards (OSHA, ASME, AISC, ANSI).
• Advanced MS Excel and Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with ERP and scheduling software.
