Senior Backend Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a large federal government healthcare technology project. This 100% remote position will focus on designing, developing, and modernizing enterprise backend services, APIs, and integration solutions for secure, scalable healthcare applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services, RESTful APIs, and integration components supporting mission‑critical healthcare applications.
• Lead technical implementation, including business logic, data processing, error handling, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and DevSecOps to ensure alignment with platform standards and non‑functional requirements.
• Perform code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices for reliability, security, and performance.
• Support troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, defect remediation, and production support across multiple environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of backend engineering or enterprise application development experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government/Public Trust clearance.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to complete fingerprinting and background check.
