Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician to join the New Helicopter Completions team in Columbus, MS. This temporary contract position involves working on aircraft, assemblies, and parts in the sheet‑metal area, supporting the production of UH‑72A Lakota and H‑125 helicopters.

Key responsibilities

• Read detailed plans, diagrams, and blueprints; inspect and measure parts before assembly to ensure they are defect‑free and correctly sized.
• Install sheet‑metal components and assemblies, ensuring secure attachment without compromising aircraft structure or systems.
• Perform drilling, fitting, and riveting of sub‑assemblies such as tail booms and stabilizers.
• Collaborate with inspectors to run tests and verify proper assembly of parts.

Required profile

• Minimum six (6) years of related experience; education may substitute for experience when tied to an A&P license or related degree.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams and apply standard shop practices.
• Current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus but not required.
• Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. citizen, green‑card holder, or covered under existing ITAR license).
