Senior Accounting Analyst – UHealth Finance

About the role

The University of Miami’s UHealth system is seeking a full‑time Senior Accounting Analyst to join its Finance Department in Medley. The role supports periodic financial reporting, audit preparation, and ad‑hoc analysis to aid strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post month‑end journal entries and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Extract, analyze, and interpret financial data, reviewing material account variances.
• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables.
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and assist with audit requests.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses across projects and functional areas.
• Mentor and oversee lower‑level accountants, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
