Senior Accountant – Vacation Rental Portfolio (Remote)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with direct vacation‑rental industry expertise. The role is fully remote and focuses on onboarding new clients, optimizing accounting workflows, and delivering accurate financial reporting for short‑term rental businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client onboarding and set up accounting systems tailored to each vacation‑rental portfolio.
• Customize and streamline accounting workflows, including month‑end close and reconciliations.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, owner statements, and property‑level reports.
• Work with vacation‑rental platforms such as PMS, channel managers, and trust‑accounting systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry‑specific accounting standards and best practices.
• Identify process improvements and implement scalable accounting solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance efficiency and client experience.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for vacation‑rental accounting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in the vacation‑rental sector.
• Proven experience with trust accounting, owner statements, and property‑level reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to onboard new clients and configure accounting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
