Operational Audit & Reconciliation Manager

About the role

BTCM Consulting is seeking an experienced Manager – Operational Audit & Reconciliation to lead daily audits and financial reconciliations across a network of gas stations and convenience stores in the United States. The role combines oversight of audit activities, investigation of discrepancies, and continuous improvement of internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operational audits covering fuel, merchandise sales, sales tax, lottery, EBT and other store transactions.
• Supervise cash, deposit, purchase, expense, payroll and banking reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Lead and monitor the audit team to guarantee timely completion of audit tasks.
• Investigate financial discrepancies, shortages, unidentified deposits and potential fraud, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Store Managers, Operations, Finance, HR and Treasury to resolve audit and operational issues.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls, audit procedures and process improvements.
• Prepare daily and monthly audit reports highlighting findings, risks and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in operational audit, internal audit, financial reconciliation or retail operations, preferably in gas stations or multi‑location retail.
• Strong analytical, investigative and communication skills with high integrity and attention to detail.
• Experience managing a team and handling multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with POS systems.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms.
• Ability to use financial reporting tools.
