Security Officer - Flex Variable Shift Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer Flex Variable Shift Patrol in Honolulu, HI. The officer serves and safeguards clients across healthcare, education, finance, retail and other industries, working 30-40 hours per week. Shifts, days, locations and assignments change regularly, and some are irregular with little to no advance notice, so adaptability and dependability are key.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping written logs as required
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and professionally, and make emergency notifications as needed

Required profile

• Available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends, and for last-minute scheduling
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel required distances
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required
• Preferred: multilingual ability, prior security, military or law enforcement experience
